Easily the best meal I’ve had in Sri Lanka. I had the chance to try an incredible and delicious buffet mix of 20+ curries. Most of which I’ve never been able to find in Sri Lanka as a tourist. The hosts who run this place are incredibly friendly and generous as well.
An enormous spread of food was put out for us. Curries included: breadfruit, Jack fruit, gourd, fish, chicken, green bean, cucumber, aubergine. Got to have a little taste of everything. Wash it down with some cool beer or fresh mango juice looking over the rice paddy fields. Very friendly locals serving authentic cuisine Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person Rs 2,000–2,500 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We came there at about 18:00 and although we were the only 2 guests at the time they prepared the whole buffet for us, a variety of 3 different kinds of rice and 15 veggi currys (there would have been the option of chicken and fish as well) and varied desserts. We especially liked the lentils, the pumpkin and the manioc. But really every single curry was so tasty and well seasoned. The spices complemented the ingredients and did not blank them out. This was easily our best food experience in all of Sri Lanka. Staff is extremely friendly and ambience is nice and cozy, a bit outside the city near the rice pads. We paid 5600 Rs for 2 people, juices and water included. Should you stay in Polonnaruwa we definitely recommend you visit them ! Excellent lunch!😄 We had the fortune of having a tour guide take us here (so glad we asked for a recommended Sri Lankan restaurant). Atmosphere was lovely, and the food was great (also 90% vegan🥳). As well as the grassy fields, my view while dining also at one point had a mongoose, hundreds of dragonflies, then later a cat. Staff were great (even complimented me for choosing to eat Sri Lankan style). Would definitely recommend👍 Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Sri Lankan Curry from Buffet Local

An authentic meal off the beaten track at a home. Food prepared on site & delivered to your area - lots of dishes, 2 courses & each dish showed its ingredient. Plain area to dine in but nice. Overlooking fields. Staff so friendly even with limited English. Great experience & pleased I got to try. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Hidden Gem Restaurant The tourist driver, Suresh, took us to this little-known gem of a buffet house for lunch during our visit to Pasikuda. The dining houses were of traditional mud and clay with thatched roof covering. We could see the various meals being cooked over wood fired hearths. It was a delicious meal of typical Sri Lankan rice and curry. All vegetable dishes were from locally grown fresh veggies and rice. The meals included fried and curried chicken and lake fish. The food was served on a lotus leaf. There were many tourists enjoying a tasty and typical Sri Lankan village meal. The cost was very reasonable at Rs 3000 per person. The dining huts were very clean and overlooking extensive rice fields allowing us to enjoy natural breeze whilst having our meal. I was personally very impressed as this place not only employ local staff but also sources all their raw materials locally empowering many local - not so well to do - villagers. Highly recommended!! Memorable and lifetime culinary experience in Sri Lanka. We took our lunch in an amazing restaurant in our recent trip in Sri Lanka with very delicious and authentic Sri Lankan culinary experience . All the staffs and owner of the restaurant were nice and of very friendly nature.  It was not only lunch but a veritable culinary show with altogether 36 types of different menus . The backdrop of the restaurant was amazing ! Situated in the middle of lushgreen Paddy field, with sitting arrangement on wooden benches, foods are served on earthern plates and bowls. We had to take foods on bamboo plates over which  a big lotus leave spread on top . The dishes are prepared on earthern pots with wood fire. They don't know english, but adopted one unique system of identifying the foods for the foreign customer. They were putting main ingredients like, white rice, black rice, reddish rice, fish, meat, dry fish, vegetables etc. by the side of each and every menu. So we could at ease take our choice of foods. And the taste of home made sweets are really superb. Highly recommend this marvelous restaurant to take lunch and dinner while visiting Polonnaruwa. We were the only ones in the evening but they served us a whole buffet! The food was the most delicious sri lankan food. A lot of choice of curry's, meat, fish, vegetables and authentic dessert. The staff was very friendly and the owner had a friendly chat with us for a bit. The place is beautiful and relaxing, we felt really at home. We highly recommend to visit this restaurant! Some of the best food I've had in Sri Lanka. Farmer style cuisine. Plenty of options and you get to try some of the typical dishes that are not often available in other buffets or restaurants. The place is thoguth for tourists as it's not a sketchy street-food like place. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
