Red Barn Ice Cream is a great place! If you’re near to Stowe, and you’re craving either hard ice cream or creemees, this is an excellent option. They have one of the best maple creemees I’ve had so far in Vermont - I’ve tried quite a few! Their creemees are super tricky and creamy (as they should be considering the name) and are far superior to traditional soft serve ice cream. They have an impressive selection of hard ice cream flavors, ranging from traditional like chocolate and vanilla, to much more unique flavors like Vermont maple and more! This is a BUSY place - after dinner, expect a pretty decent line! However, it moves pretty quickly and you won’t wait too long. There is sufficient parking as it’s in a strip mall, and overall it’s a solid neighborhood ice cream shop with everything you need from ice cream, creemees, snacks, candies, drinks, and more. Check this place out!
Very disappointing. We took the PB swirl which for some reason tasted like coffee and was very overpriced for just one scoop. We ended up throwing it to the garbage after a few bites (which we never do). Also they handed us back what looks like a fake bill. Unfortunately, not recommended although the shop is nicely designed and very appealing
I got the maple ice cream and it was very good. I believe my partner got sweet cream. The texture and consistency were really good. Delicous and creamy. Not sure what the deal was with the service though. There was a family of 4 in front of us with 3 workers there, and it took quite a long time to get their ice cream for some reason. We looked around the candies and other stuff for about 5 minutes and then waited for about another 10 to 12 minutes while they were still serving the family. Then a large group of about 9 people came in around that time behind us, and they tried to serve them before my partner and I, despite us already waiting in line this whole time. Thankfully, the lady in the group let them know we were in line first already and let us get ours first. Ice cream was great but service was questionable.
I got the Strawberry ice cream. It was so good and it was the best ice cream I have ever had! I’m a kid so I got a kids dish, and it was so cute that I kept it! I’m going to get your ice cream every time I go to Stowe!!

Only place that was open late (9:30pm when we went). The kids enjoyed their vanilla ice cream and cotton candy. And being someone who prefers non-dairy options, their non-dairy vanilla ice cream was delicious. I have had many and this one was great in flavor and texture. And the staff that was there that night was also a joy. Smiles all around and just really great service. Thank you!!
How is it closed on a Friday and Saturday during peak ski season with staff shortage? All the restaurants and bars have staff…I will work here for an hour to get a maple creamee
Red Barn ice cream is a unique place since they have custom and seasonal ice cream flavours made with locally sourced ingredients from Vermont. In fall, they sell a maple soft serve which is a must try! They also sell goods from local farms such as maple cookies, maple syrup, jellies, salsa verde etc. Purchasing from Red Barn is the true essence of supporting local businesses :)
No high chair, unacceptable. At least 1, it's like $30 to avoid the liability of a kid falling off the chair and running out.
Nice wooden sculptures outside.
Decent ice cream.
Super friendly staff!! Gave us whatever sample we asked for and offered great suggestions! The flavors are delicious, but nothing compares to the maple creamy!! Def check it out for a great ice-cream time!!
Wow this place is so cute and right by the Stowe trail. Very well priced and ice cream is so good! The stuff was very nice and service was quick. It is our go to when we walk this path.
