Found a great little restaurant in the old town on Tangier, Ba Sidi is a lovely place, great decoration very elegantly designed with a real relaxed atmosphere, nice music and a light bright feeling whilst still having the old town rushing by outside. The restaurant is situated in a small square with a park right opposite where lots of the locals hang out and relax in the sunshine. The view through the window is really nice watching the passers by shopping and going about their daily chores so close to the old town. The restaurant is Spanish owned after just speaking with owners daughter, who runs and works with her father, who was eating in the restaurant at the same time. It seems that most of the clients were speaking Spanish. I tried the Harira soup, very very tasty and large bowl of soup very very nice. As you can imagine it was served with some really tasty bread. Next off the menu was a delicious Pastel de Pollo, this is a typical Moroccan dish. It’s chicken cooked with spices and almonds wrapped in a crispy filo pastry, covered almonds and some sugar and cinnamon also a little bit sweet honey. It’s a very great dish like amazing spices that you can taste but also very sweet which with chicken is a bit bit strange but I must admit you will fall in love with it. The last dish are some skewers of mince meat with Moroccan spices and severed with vegetables. These are super tasty and literally melt in your mouth. The staff are very friendly and polite plus welcoming and have a great atmosphere. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Very good tagine. We especially enjoyed the lemon chicken. The minced mead tagine was also very good. Very nice atmosphere, calm and relaxing. Right at the heart of old town Tangier. I ordered a lamb Tajine and they brought me a beef tajine saying that it was lamb (the bill also says it is lamb). I started eating and soon realized it wasn’t lamb. They gave me many excuses saying that they were out of lamb, then they said lamb wasn’t a real traditional dish in Morocco, then they said that the dish was good and that I would like it, but they never admitted they were doing something wrong and never showed they were sorry for doing so. Also, the food is not worth the price you pay. The place is nice, and that’s it. There are better restaurants in Tanger. Wonderful place to get a delicious meal and people watch. The service was fantastic! My husband and I had the beef and chicken kebabs with fries and rice.
