This place was a bit farther beyond the busiest bars and restraunts on gringo alley. The waiter spoke English which was great for us since we have a long way to go with our Spanish skills. Hands down my favorite meal in Nicaragua. Laid back atmosphere while still feeling a little fancy because ... lobster! I would eat this a couple times a week if it was as affordable at home.
My husband and I enjoyed two delicious meals at Restaurant El Marlin at the end of November, 2016. Our server, Quique, on our first visit for dinner on November 27, 2016 was excellent and attentive, and guided us through the menu in perfect English. The seafood at El Marlin is incredibly fresh, and the chef mastered perfectly our octopus, prawns, and lobster. We returned a few days later for lunch before we had to leave Granada, and once again Quique took excellent care of us. We highly recommend this exceptional restaurant!
We stayed in Granada for about 16 days, and only half way through our trip did we come across El Marlin. One of Granada’s main streets, La Calzada hosts a variety of eateries, shops and when the sun goes down, draws the local nightlife. However, after a week of the boisterous activities, we were in need of something quieter and headed towards the lake to explore the rest of La Calzada. There we came across this lovely gem. The ceviche was exquisite! Our first order cannot be forgotten: Ceviche el Marlin and Parihuela de Mariscos con Lobster. We were hooked, line and sinker. We returned at every chance to try their different dishes. The owners, Bosco and Karla are a friendly husband-wife team who originally started serving food out of their home in the Xalteva area of Granada. They later moved into the heart of La Calzada but also found it too noisy and moved to a more peaceful area - their current location. The seafood which has a Peruvian and Columbian flare, is superb and well-crafted by Bosco, the chef. We highly recommend trying this restaurant!

Quizá un de nuestras mejores experiencias culinarias aquí en Nica. Platos muy chic, recetas únicas, ingredientes frescos Not everything ordered made it into a photo, was looking too good and we were too hungry! Ceviches, lobster, shrimps and excellent fish - but it’s their signature marinades that are a complete game changer. Chapeau!
Tried the seafood and meat platter. The food was subpar at best, the portion size was very disappointing and the restaurant added a 25% tax and a 15% tip to an already overpriced meal.

Really good sea food. The restaurant is not in the main area where all the others restaurants and bars are. That is quite nice, because it is more quit down there

Terrible service. They charged us for tips nearly 22% after the tax which was OUTRAGEOUS. No wonder why they had so many empty seats when we visited. DO NOT EAT HERE
