Amazing place to eat, chill, stay. Mali (the owner) is the best friend and host! We landed at s.l.k.afé by chance,for just a coffee,and we were amazed by the hospitality of Mali and his family! His suggestions of where to go and what to do where exactly what we needed from a trustworthy local person, so we changed our plans and stayed 2 nights in Sigiriya, at his rooms to lend (I totally recommend it as well,big rooms,very good price,hot water, beautiful garden, kind & quiet atmosphere). We had one of the most amazing experiences around the area, the trips he proposed were excellent, the food and fruit lassies super super tasty, and his kindness was such as we could ever imagine. We really felt like having a new friend. Just go and...trust him :-)

I found the good recommendations on Google maps and I was not disappointed. I had chicken pasta (there is curry sauce with cocos flakes on side, so you can mix it up with pasta). The portion was amazing especially for a good eater like me.

I had an experience here today. I read about the cooking class in the reviews and really wanted to try it out. Mali took all her time to teach me how to make Rice and Curries, deviled chicken and coconut curry. Everyone was so kind and helpful and the food turned out amazing (thanks to her, not me 😂)

Amazing experience would definitely recommend the cooking class hosts are amazing, friendly and informative, we cooked 9dishes in an hour and they packed the rest for take out.
Mali the cook is amazing and Loku went out of his way to show us around sigiriya rock showing us a beautiful spot that locals go to and it was free

We have never experienced such great hospitility than in this place!! Loku and Mali are the nicest people and they make you feel so much at home and treat you like family! Loku also loves to help out wherever he can (organising a tuk tuk/laundry service/medicine/… for a good price, giving great advice and insidertipps about sightseeing stuff).
Regarding their restaurant and food - we have no words for it! SOOOO YUMMY!!! And you will definitely not be hungry anymore when you leave the restaurant. (We ordered a vegetable curry with rice and they served 6 different curries).
The restaurant itself is very beautiful and cozy!And they have an open kitchen where everybody is welcome to do a cooking class or just watch them prepare the most delicious food ever while you are waiting for the food..
We could go on forever like this but we are going to stop here by saying HUGE THANKS Loku and Mali for everything, we enjoyed our stay so much and already miss you and the food already.

The food here is AMAZING! And super generous portions sizes. Me and 2 friends shared the Kattu roti and veg curry - the curries were some of the best I’ve tasted (especially the soy curd and green bean dishes). They spend time on making the food taste great so I’d recommend you arrive 15 minutes before you usually would so you don’t get hangry!

Really nice family, we had a great cooking class and after the class we ate our self made food. It was so much that we could take it with us. This was the best cooking class we took in Sri Lanka. And she didn't even asked money for the cooking class! For all the food, the drinks and the class she asked less then 5000!

It‘s simply the best place to have a meal in the region around Sigiriya. Owned by Mali and Loku, the restaurant offers amazing food and a lovely atmosphere. Additionally, it’s possible to do a private cooking class with Loku, which we can definitely recommend!

We ordered rice and curry here and were invited to a spontaneous cooking class. Everything was made fresh and we loved learning how to cook the dishes. The food was absolutely delicious and a very big portion for such a cheap price. The family who runs this restaurant is also very warm and welcoming. Absolutely recommend if you are looking for authentic food made with love by great people!

I enjoyed a delicious lunch here and enjoyed the food, and my conversation with the owners so much that I came back in the evening for a cooking class. They showed me how to make several different curries and didn't even charge for the class. This wonderful, family run place offers delicious food and warm Sri Lankan hospitality. I highly recommend visiting when you are in Sigiriya!
