What a wonderful find!!! Love the atmosphere in this place. A friend and I stopped in for a quick lunch. We both had the Tomato Basil Crab Bisque soup (which was incredible) and salads. We were in a hurry after waiting 45 minutes at another local restaurant only to find our order was never put in. The waiter here was so accommodating. Highly recommended! I'm sharing our recent dining experience from Sam Kendalls because I feel like all the hype is misplaced. We ordered through a third-party app, because our car had just broken down and my husband wanted to do something special for my birthday. We waited eagerly for over two hours, knowing it wasn't the restaurant's fault for the delay. However, we were assured that despite the wait, our food would still be fresh and delicious. The anticipation was high, especially with all the rave reviews we'd heard about your steaks. However, upon receiving our order, our excitement quickly turned to disappointment. The side of mashed potatoes was pitifully small and tasted rotten. Both steaks were cold, bland, and left a strange taste in our mouths. Even the added shrimp on my steak were rubbery, sour tasting, and cold. And don't get me started on the cheeseburgers meant for my kids (but ordered off the adult menu) – they were burnt and were far from a cheeseburger, missing everything but the bun and meat. When I spoke to the manager, Sam, he seemed more interested in blaming the third-party delivery service than addressing our concerns. It felt like our feedback fell on deaf ears. Despite promises of a refund, nothing was done, leaving us feeling ignored and frustrated. In all honesty, I wouldn't recommend Sam Kendalls based on our experience. It didn't live up to the hype, and the lack of accountability from management was disheartening. We won't be returning, and I hope everyone else thinks twice. This was a complete waste of over $200 as we didn't end up even being able to eat more than a few bites and ended up making a frozen pizza instead. We stopped in for lunch while exploring the local antique stores one Saturday afternoon. The restaurant has a darker, pub style - though still elegant ambiance. Outdoor seating is available, though it was too hot to eat outdoors on the day we visited. I had the Scallop Pasta and my date had the Hickory Burger. Our only complaint was the burger was ordered medium and was served well done. Otherwise, every thing was delicious and the service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the pork chops. They came burned on one side and so over cooked that I could have used them as hammers. My wife had the red snapper. The fish was fine, but the rice had an aroma and a taste that just wasn't good. My wife is Asian and she said the rice was old and should have been thrown away, she knows rice. I don't know if we'll go back. The service and atmosphere were both good, it was just the food that we had issues with. First time. If you want a seat make reservations. It was packed on a Saturday night. Servers were great and informative. It took some time to get our meals, it was to be expected with a full house. Swordfish was awesome, steaks were also good. Red snapper was tasty as well. Could use a bit more selection of bourbon. 😜 Scallops and cheese cake started and ended the meal! Yum Come and enjoy. Chose this place for a dinner date and to try out the steaks. We both loved the fun atmosphere and my date ordered a shrimp appetizer, then we both ordered the 8oz filet with baked potato. We thought the food tasted great and seemed high quality. Service was also a five star experience. As is common around the holidays they did seem busy and a little short staffed but our waitress, Kat was excellent and she was still able deliver amazing service! Kat handled the pressure with ease made sure to constantly come to check on our table as the food came out right on time it was hot and delicious. Because of the great food and great service I would definitely return to dine here again and highly recommend trying this place out for yourself. This place is a gem in Camden. Steak was prepared perfectly, lobster was very good and so was everything else we got. The server was very friendly. I was surprised by the selection of bourbon and my old fashioned was great. The prices aren’t overpriced and there is something for everyone’s budget. My girlfriend’s meal was $23 and mine was $57. The only issue we had was it took over 10 minutes to get 3 waters and a sweet tea out and the bartender took another 5 minutes to get behind the bar to see the ticket after the server rang the drinks in. It was 5pm, weren’t busy at all. My parents are older and my Dads on oxygen so the slow service at first might hinder from us going frequently. We will definitely be back though! My bestie and I went here to celebrate her birthday (kid and husband free 😜) We had never been to Sam Kendall’s before so we didn’t really know what to order. We started off with the hot spicy shrimp and mini crab cakes. For dinner she got the seafood pasta and I got the Kingston cut (with a side of broccoli and a salad with the ginger dressing). I also ordered the lobster pot on the side. My friend and I shared all of our food to see how everything tasted. We quickly realized EVERYTHING we tried was delicious. I was extremely happy with everything I ordered and so was my friend. It was also our waitresses birthday 🥳. We had a wonderful time and even better food. Thanks for a great experience. Wonderful experience. Called and spoke with Michelle who ended up being our server. Told her we were on our honeymoon (which we were) and the excitement t hat she displayed made me know instantly we were in the right place.the service was great and the food was even greater! We had a party of 8 this evening for a Christmas get-together of friends, and it was my first visit to Sam Kendall's. I cannot say enough about how everything was so perfect ... the ambiance was warm and inviting, the service was great (both at the bar and at our table), and the food surprised the heck out of me. I have no idea what prompted me to order pork chops, something I typically wouldn't order, but they blew my socks off, so tender and flavorful, and grilled perfectly with the taste of a backyard grill, and well sauced. I live in West Columbia and get to Camden occasionally - this will be my new dinner destination. Great job, Sam Kendall's! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
