Traditional Kazakhstani restaurant. The restaurant os designed like a palace. They have huge area for conducting parties. Also they have a back space that opens up to a courtyard, only if the weather permits. Food is also excellent. I have a great traditional food. Staffs are also lovely and kind. Also some of them speak English. The price is also moderate. First time I tried horse meat and it was sooo good and I liked it a lot. It’s atmospheric and ambience give you a pleasant feeling. First time eating here! Excellent food, service and decor. Slightly more expensive and upscale than typical Central Asian restaurants, but the extra cost is worth the experience - and we were treated to live music! Try the Turkistan tea and the lightly fried flatbreads. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

traditional restaurant with local cuisine dishes. nicely decorated. The personnel's dress in traditional clothes and the dood is delicious. Definitely a place to go in Shymkent.

I went there for dinner as a solo American. A couple came in after me and were served. Then another Muslim came in after them and was also given a drink and bread. I sat there ignored while sitting across from the prayer room that was used regularly, especially by one guy who went twice within 20 minutes. I don't recall ever experiencing such discrimination. So this review is for westerners. Sorry I can't review the quality of the food. Oh, and if you want to pair a good dry red wine with your horse meal dish you're out of luck. No alcohol served.
