Ooooh boy. Not their best night. 125 pp price fix for Valentine's. Served us cellophane wrapped crackers and cheese whiz. Bread with no butter, salad with no dressing. Weren't able to regulate the meat temp. Some too raw, others too well. The manager was rude, asked if we wanted to see the meat thermometer, we declined as we knew what raw meat looked like. The baked potato was cold, and the cheesecake was frozen. Our server did everything she could, was pleasant yet, so defeated. The kitchen just never got it together. We should've known when we walked in and saw the manager with a shop vac in the men's room, and others were walking out when told about the hefty price... Management needs to get it together if they don't want to sink this dearly loved legacy restaurant. *Tip, serve a manageable sized prime rib for 2/3 the price, cook it properly, and people won't walk out.

This restaurant is so odd. It should be a hidden gem and it's more like a tired mule. The parking lot, for starters...you definitely want to be careful because it's the worst gravel and dirt lot I've ever seen on a place calling itself a steakhouse.
The food is blah. They should go on kitchen nightmares, it needs that much improvement. Overwhelming portions, so the older crowd loves it, but zero seasoning, uninspired flavors, and a quality that makes you compare it to Olive Garden.
The service is the highlight. The staff is so attentive and bubbly, and they're clearly well treated by the ownership because they seem happy to be there. It's the only highlight I have for this restaurant.
The atmosphere...a cross between your grandma's living room and a funeral home. Dark, uninspiring, should be classy but it's not.
We haven't been back since our first visit.

It has changed hands since the last time we went. The portions are smaller and the prices are doubled. There is half of what they used to have. Looking on the website shows 10 to 15 more dishes offered, but not on the menu given to us. I got the stuffed flounder with crabmeat, it was very bland. My husband got the New York strip he said it was ok.

It had been over 20 years since I had been here. I am sad our family waited that long to go back to this gem of a local, long time amazing restaurant. The portions are huge! They are known for it. The food is spectacular and they know what they are doing after all these years and it is just as good or even better than I remember it. We went to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary and everything was amazing. They made accommodations for my mother's gluten allergy. The prime rib... chefs kiss. The lobster tail... can not be beat! The service was stellar and they made sure everything was to your liking. Yes, it is expensive but is it worth it? I can not give you a bigger yes, it is worth every penny!

Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail
This used to be such a great restaurant known for big portions and good food. We visited last night and will never go back. Such a disappointment. Listen, when you’re spending $65 for a piece of filet mignon, you expect a dining experience accompanied by great service and an elegant atmosphere. Seven Stars severely lacked in all areas. The place is old, no longer charming, it needs a good cleaning and at the very least, new carpet. We were promptly seated but waited about 20 mins for the server to come to the table. No cocktail or wine menu to glance at, you need to ask for it. We both ordered filet mignon, menu states it was 16-20 ounces. Our filets were nowhere near that size, definitely not seasoned, definitely nothing special… they were served on a piece of toast with some onion rings. The service was so bad, the server was loud, forgetful, inattentive and just poor. The sides are laughable being mashed or baked potatoes, Cole slaw, pickled beets, applesauce and creamed peas. Other than the potatoes, these sides do not belong at a supposed high end restaurant. My salad had so much dressing, it wasn’t edible. I paid an extra $15 to have my steak Oscar style. The lump crabmeat and hollandaise sauce were good, the asparagus was frozen and way over cooked so it was limp when served. The tables around us ordered the prime rib which is $97. The three guests seated by us, who were served the prime rib, complained about how unflavored, fatty and tough it was. Another gentleman sent back his stuffed lobster tails, he said they were the worse he ever had and could not eat them. We ordered coffee and dessert, the desserts were frozen cakes, nothing special. Two filet mignon dinners which included a salad and one side, two coffees, two pieces of cake and two glasses of wine totaled $248. With tip, we paid $300. I can honestly tell you, it was NOT worth it. Go elsewhere as the establishment is definitely what it used to be years ago.
So, where to begin. I've been coming here for years. First time back since new ownership, so maybe 5 yrs. They still deal in large steaks, lobster tails, and portions. That's where the experience ended. Salads came out. 2 house salads and a Cesar. The Cesar was drowned in dressing. The 2 house salads had wilted and extremely limp greens. Sent them back and got much fresher salads. The snapper soup tasted like canned soup and was a thick as paste. The crab cocktail was very dry. 2 of the three of us got the NY strip steak. They were cooked to medium rare as asked but had very little to no seasoning on them and were very bland. Have had better at TX Roadhouse. Next was the other main course was their colossal lobster trail. It came out and was rotten. Not just bad but actually rotten. If any of you know what it means when fish has a strong ammonia smell, then you know what I'm talking about. My wife didn't find out until the first bite. She reordered the crab stuffed shrimp and said it was good. They did comp us desert, but the issues are a complete lack of attention and pride. I'm sorry to say I will not be back.
