This place is in the middle of bloody nowhere! lol Ok, jokes aside, the food was quite good. I thought it was more comfort food than high dining. I ordered the beef ribs and it was a bit dry for my liking. I think I did the mistake of not ordering the steak as it looks like this place is specialised in properly aged steak. The service was ok and they speak English which is nice. The atmosphere was more what you would expect on a bar than on a restaurant. The desserts were quite nice I have to say. Amazing food, my husband and I stopped here because our hotel is close by. Did not disappoint. It was amazing cuisine, they didn’t speak English, but that wasn’t an issue at all. Amazing service and great food and wine. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Worth a try if your looking for something lowkey and delicious.

Very nice and couzy traditional authentic restaurant, local sourced foods and drinks and really nice presentation of the local cuisine. If you are in the surrounding I really recommend to try this, because it gives you a good local taste of the wonderful cuisine. On top of this is the amazing view and location of the restaurant.

So called "Slavkov dom" is a winning destination for Sunday lunch. Just enough far from kapitol that you loose your cell phone reception and you can smell drying hay from surrounding meadows. Restaurant has pretty much stop in time except big beef meat dryer which prepares you soft and juicy steaks alongside other godness from old fashioned kitchen.

I am in a dilemma here. The place looks it part, the waiter is very welcoming and friendly and the food looks delicious. However that's looks I am talking about. The taste of starter (wild mushrooms with dressing) would have benefited from room temperature. It was way too cold. I understand that you need to fridge stuff to keep it fresh, but temperature determines taste. It looked great. The flower is a nice touch. The dressing was a bit runny, and would have benefited from a thicker texture. The main dish (wild game gulash, made the day before) looked really great. You could see the different spices, the sauce was thick. But it didn't taste wild game. To me, wild game tastes like forest, there was no single tree to taste in the gulash. Texture was a bit rough, you had to work your way through. I doubt it had any wild game in it, nor that it was made the day before. The desert (tiramisu), again, looked it part. Taste wise I liked it, but it could have benefited with a bit more coffee taste. Texture wise, it was a bit too much done. There was no real different perception of the different ingredients or layers. I visit Slovenia twice a year, so I had a few restaurant experiences so far. When it comes to price-quantity, I think this is on the lower side. Portions are more generous at other places. That said, they don't look this good at other places. Price-quality wise, I think it's a bit too expensive for what you get on your taste buds. The eyes are treated well, but the taste buds cry for more attention and excitement when looking at this price level. I later discovered that I paid 5 items while I only consumed 4. This must be a mistake, surely.

Lovely place. Waitstaff is nice, everything we had was delicious. Steaks were aged nicely and cooked properly. Gibanica was the best I have had in a long time! Make sure that you make a reservation in advance, it tends to be very busy. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €50+

Very good traditional Slovenian food. They offer some special dishes that are rarely found in other restaurants. Meals are worth the price.
