I’m only giving the stars for the food because my fish and Mac n’ cheese was too salty and my greens were sweet, the sweet posted were stringy. My catfish was fried to golden perfection, man n ‘ cheese was cheesy and the sweet potatoes had the perfect amount of sweetness. There stuffing balls (this might not be the correct name) were ok. I am sure that I would have enjoyed them more if they were corn bread dressing. I’ll give them another try before leaving Charlotte since this place was recommended to me. Oh that Arnold Palmer was just right! The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
The food was great. Many choices. True soul food, with tons of friendly hospitality! Food was so good, we ordered seconds to take home. The owner talked to us like she was our family, our cousin! We laughed continuously! We will be back! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Mac & Cheese
First time here today... We liked the decor and atmosphere... The restaurant is nice and clean with some quiet music playing. The staff were very friendly. We had fried chicken and the pork chop. Really good skin on the chicken and the pork chop was large and juicy. All 4 of the sides we had were solid... The Mac and cheese was really good. We will definitely be back and I encourage everyone to make time to stop by so we can keep this good food around for a long time. Finally made it to this establishment. Two pieces of fried chicken along with mashed potatoes and gravy and yams. The Mashed Potatoes and Gravy were so creamy that my fork easily sliced right through them, and the gravy boosted the flavor of the dish. I really loved the fact that the yams weren't drenched in thick brown sugar syrup. It was just enough butter and brown sugar to bring out the natural taste of a yam. The main dish of course was the fried chicken. The first bit sunk my teeth into a crispy layer of skin, then the juicy meat. Each chew released the seasoning that was cooked into the thigh and leg. I will most definitely will return to try other dishes. #gratuityadded #friedchicken #chicken #foodie #food  #foodstagram #gastonia #gastonianc #clteats #gastoncounty #foodblogger #gravy #yams #foodiesofinstagram #soulfood  #foodlover #keeppounding #blackowned #gashouse #mashedpotatoes #comfortfood #falltime #photography #photooftheday #instadaily #likeforlikes #picoftheday #yelp  #followforfollowback  #followme Update: I went back with a friend. I didn't care for the collard greens. They just didn't do it for me. The pork chop was thick cut, fried, and absolutely banging. My husband and myself had the opportunity to try something different than where we normally go after church on Sundays. So we came to this establishment and we were not disappointed. We were greeted with a smile as we entered. I normally get names but a lady in her late 50’s-early 60’s dashed over to get our drink order. Then she came back and got our food order maybe 2 minutes later-giving us plenty time to look over the menu. I like the menu as it wasn’t way too much to choose from. Simple but very appealing. The food was cooked when we got it. Both plates came out extremely hot. Our food was really good. You get a nice size portion, I had enough leftover to eat for lunch the next day. Anyway, you want good food but you don’t want to spend too much and be disappointed…. Come here and eat. You’ll come back, I assure you 👍🏼
First time at this restaurant and we will definitely return. The staff was pleasant and the chef came out and spoke to us. The ambiance of the establishment was very chic. We ordered the soul food quesadillas and split those. Let me tell you the chef said they were very filling and that was the truth neither of us could finish our meals!! Y'all I'm telling you... don't walk.....run...to give this place a try!!

Owners/Chef were so nice. This was a great place for our lunch! Food was superb. The highlight of our meal was the taste testing of their new sweet potato and sea salt caramel egg roll. I would go to this place for coffee and an order of just those! Freaking amazing! We went again today for dinner. The meals are so mouthwatering! 4/27/22. This was after taping of Robert Irvine's Restaurant Impossible. Yes, they have redone their Restaurant! 4/28/22 is the episode watch party! You have to go! Plates will run around $18 and $25 (including cocktail). Worth the money! Starts at 630pm. This family is a blessing to our community, especially to our children! All proceeds go to the children they help uplift and love while teaching them to cook! I will definitely be a return customer. Tonight we ordered bacon cheddar meatloaf, collards, mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy. Husband ordered fish with 2 sides, macaroni and cheese, grits. We were so satisfied! We were able to talk with family for a while, understanding more about their mission to help community, children. Inside of Restaurant was beautifully decorated! A must try if you've never been! Eat locally. The Chef has supernatural power over his meatloaf recipe! Service Dine in Price per person $30–50
