Great little family owned Mexican restaurant that competes very well against the larger multi site chains. Service is outstanding, portions are huge, and the quality of the food will have you wanting to lick your plate clean. The menu is extensive with daily off-menu specials like all you can eat shrimp for $12.99 or a fish-fry for $10.99. Prices are from the '70's and the restaurant is definitely worth trying as you won't regret it.

Taco Salad
I kept hearing about this place in the Sun City Chit Chat group on Facebook.
I told my Mama we need to go give it a try, because other pics the food looked good and authentic.
And this day, I was craving some really good beans.
I ordered the beef flautas and rice n beans. The beans were so very good, just like if I made them at home. The rice was tasty. And the flautas & guacamole sauce lacked seasoning. But I still ate them and added salt.
My Mama ordered the red chicken enchiladas, rice and beans. And she ate everything on her plate. I also, tasted the chicken enchiladas and they were tasty!!
The Chips were fresh made as the salsa.
The price for both of our meals was $20 and some change. We both drank water. That is a steal!!! We will be back to try breakfast next time.
P.S. We got our food very fast, we didnt wait very long.

I love this place and we love to support local businesses so we heard about this place from a couple of friends from the Recreation Center of Sun City. The food is great, the prices are reasonable and the people are very friendly. This is my second time. Best salsas I’ve ever had. Recommended 100%

Stopped in today for the first time and the Chilaquiles was AMAZING! Sophie was very nice and inviting. I give the chef a 5 star! Thank you guys I will be back and tell all my friends about this authentic Mexican cuisine.

Last Friday I visited Sofi's Restaurant in Surprise. It's right next to the Peter Piper Pizza on Bell.
I opted for 3 "mini" tacos. They were full of meat, so much meat I could have made 2 additional tacos. They also threw in some rice and beans which I was not expecting as I didn't order a meal.
They had delicious home made hot salsas "chili" that complemented the tacos fantasticly. There was a hot, medium and mild, I only tried the hot and it had some kick.
The beans were delicious and had cotija cheese as opposed to the more Americanized cheddar cheese option more commonly used at Americanized Mexican restaurants. I should have ordered some more tortillas so I could have made some additional tacos with the extra meat and beans, next time I'll do that.
The wait staff was on it and the service was top notch.
If I were being super critical, the only downside I would say is the dining space. It seemed a little cold (decor wise) and could maybe use some more decorations. I like booths and there were mostly tables, but besides that minor critique, 5 stars.
Bottom line: good quality food at a very reasonable price and good service. A huge plus for me, locally owned and not a chain.

I absolutely love this restaurant! My server happened to be the owner who is really sweet and it turns out it's mostly family which I love. I keep forgetting to take pictures, I have tried the asada chimi which was great, also the relleno(Fridays special) was so good! Rellenos are a hit and miss sometimes but gosh this one was delicious. Cooked very good. Crispy. Today I had the taco Tuesday special and that was even really good. Yes people they have limes lol can't have tacos without lime lol I will definitely keep this as my go to for my lunch breaks.

I love this place.
The kindness of the people who work there make it seem like heaven.
The food is amazing. There just isn't anything better anywhere. When I leave, I feel well nourished.
I've been there only two times so far. I am just starting. There is an American menu also. But I think I will try everything on the Mexican menu before exploring the steaks and burgers. But when I do, I am expecting to get the best hamburger I have ever had.
Next time I eat there, I will get 2 or 3 meals to take home so that I can enjoy this exquisite cuisine for a couple days at home.
