Excellent chinese dishes served in beautiful setting, with ornate decor and relaxed vibes.
Dishes were prepared well - everything was cooked to perfection and loaded with flavor. The standouts for us were the pepper shrimp, beef in black bean sauce, and the roasted chicken, but we genuinely enjoyed every dish we ordered.
It's a little pricey given the portions, but the quality and service more than make up for it. The quality of meat and ingredients used is clearly of a higher standard and service was prompt and attentive.
My parents have been coming here since the 80s I beleive, and they said they enjoyed it just as much as they did back then. Happy an institution like this is still around and not just surviving but thriving, as it seems to be a local favourite. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Trinidad and would highly recommend to anyone visiting south.

It’s telling that even on a Sunday they are packed and a reservation is always necessary. A staple of San Fernando, Ive only just been able to try out for myself. There may be some wait time if you walk in but you can pass time watching their photo wall featuring key moments (and diners) that have had a meal there.

Went for an anniversary lunch. Staff was attentive. They are good with suggesting how much you should order. One of the original Trini Chinese food restaurants and still serving up quality. Desserts are basic tho.

Great place for special occasions. Very friendly staff and great tasting food. Those fish on the front are really amazing, they do a super job of taking care of them. I do find the place a bit pricey but again, as mentioned, it's for a special occasion and not your every Friday Chinese food. There was no tofu, broccoli or mushrooms when I went so the vegetarian options were limited. Ample secured parking on the side. The birthday slice of cake was delicious and FREE.

The staff at Soong's provided us with excellent service upon our entrance. They were professional throughout our visit and extremely kind as one of the staff members offered to take our photo in several charming areas inside the restaurant, since it was not crowded. We were advised to order the petite portions - which turned out to be exactly enough for the both of us. We ordered the Chicken Spring Rolls, Great Wall Chicken, Great Wall Pork and Great Wall Shrimp together with the Vegetable Medley and Oyster Sauce Noodles. Our food was ready within a short period and I must say that it was exactly as we anticipated - flavourful! Soong's is definitely a must visit to enjoy Caribbean flavour-infused Chinese food.
Recently had lunch here and had an amazing experience. There was ample parking both at the front and the back.
We arrived at 1pm and the place wasn't full but as the afternoon went on it, more people arrived. Customer service was good and the food promptly arrived. For starters we had veg spring roles and veg wantons. I am not a fan of spring rolls but this was crunchy and not oily, it was perfect. They also had homemade pepper sauce which was just right.
We had Soong's chicken, spicy tofu, vegetable fried rice, Singapore noodles and chunky veg. Everything tasted good. The chicken was tender and delicious. I have eaten tofu before and its ok, but this tofu was tender and juicy and the sauce it came in was great. We had lychee, cheesecake and creme caramel for dessert. I am a big fan of cheesecake but this cheesecake was just ok, maybe it was made with light cream cheese, the flavour wasnt there, but the creme caramel was simply delicious. All in all we had an amazing time in a fabulous restaurant.

A couple of friends and I visited this restaurant as we had heard so much about it. We are not from south. We were not aware that reservations were required, however, we were shown to a table inside. No one said to us that we had to leave as the table was reserved. We ordered drinks and food. We were catching up in this lovely decorated place. There were plenty staff around. At 620pm our server took up our plates and dishes. We were not finished. She then told us we could sit in the lounge. It was SOOO RUDE. We were absolutely shocked. We did not stay. We promptly paid and left. I am horrified with this service. If the table was booked we should have been told at the beginning. Restaurants should not rush "paying" patrons. I DO NOT recommend this Restaurant at all. I have dined at many places and this was the worse treatment possible. 😔😖😤😤☹
