Went to Tamu restaurant during Christmas time and I think definitely it’s the best restaurant I’ve been to in the “Kenyan riviera”.
Very clean friendly and professional staff, food was awesome.
You definitely have to book in advance as the place is almost packed.
Sun beds are very comfortable and great sea view.
It’s the best place to be.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Tamu Beach Bar & Restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful experience that fully deserves a 5/5 rating.
From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance of Tamu Beach Bar & Restaurant set the perfect tone for a relaxing and enjoyable visit. The option of outdoor seating added to the charm, allowing me to bask in the beautiful surroundings while indulging in their offerings.
One of the highlights of Tamu Beach Bar & Restaurant is their extensive cocktail menu. Each cocktail I tried was delicious, skillfully mixed, and presented beautifully, making it a joy for both the palate and the eyes. For those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages, there are plenty of options to choose from as well.
The food at Tamu is noteworthy, especially for accommodating diverse dietary preferences. As a vegan, I was thrilled with the variety and quality of vegan dishes available. The flavors were fresh, and the ingredients were of top-notch quality. In addition, their selection of fresh fish dishes is exceptional, catering to seafood lovers with expertly prepared, mouth-watering options.
The staff at Tamu Beach Bar & Restaurant, both in the restaurant and on the beach, were outstanding. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about ensuring a great experience for each guest. Their service was prompt and efficient, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience.
The beach beds were another fantastic aspect of Tamu. They provided the perfect spot to relax, soak in the sun, and enjoy the serene beach atmosphere. The quality and comfort of these beds, combined with the excellent service, made for an ideal beach day.
In terms of value for money, Tamu Beach Bar & Restaurant hits the mark. The pricing was reasonable, especially considering the quality of food, drinks, and service provided. It's a place where every cent spent feels justified by the quality of the experience.
In conclusion, Tamu Beach Bar & Restaurant is a gem that I would highly recommend. Whether you're looking for delicious cocktails, exquisite vegan options, fresh seafood, or just a relaxing day at the beach with exceptional service, Tamu has it all. It's a must-visit destination that undoubtedly lives up to its reputation.

This is one of, if not the nicest, most upscale places in Watamu. An Italian host and her staff are welcoming, professional, and dutiful. The dining room is beautiful with a postcard view of the ocean with a lower bar area that’s the perfect place to catch a sunset over a cold Tusker, White Cap, or glass of Rose. As someone who has traveled extensively throughout Italy, I really enjoyed the authentic fare. It reiterates why Watamu is known as “The Little Italy” of Kenya.

A friend recommended Tamu to us, and WOW, he wasn't wrong! THE best Italian cuisine, and just the most delightful staff and management, and such a lovely atmosphere! Being hospitality professionals ourselves - with one member of our group being a chef who trained in Italy - we would absolutely recommend Tamu without any hesitation. Well done to all the team!

Good food great location amazing staff.
Very fair for the price - super value.
One improvement area 😉, music. It’s constant elevator versions of 80s ballads. So much great music to choose,
from Italian oldies to African jazz so hope the playlist gets an upgrade.
Great view people food!
That's a spectacular surprise.
Food excellent (of course was fish).
Location fantastic full serviced with sunbed and beach, simply perfect with reasonable prices for muzungu.

I had the pistachio gelato which was AMAZING! The fish tacos (which were great, however the fish was sort of in small fried cubes? Could have used more sauce)but were awesome and great pricing! GET THE GORGONZOLA SAMOSAS.

Ambiance was beautiful. Glass windows & rustic white interiors . The Tiramisu & Sated Caramel Milkshake was very worth it .
And it’s a safe haven away from the menace of beach boys with tight security & great service all round .
Pretty location, ok food lovely Kenyan staff amazing people , but i hate the fact that the owner finds it acceptable for her staff to walk bare foot in house ( all black africans ) while she walks on shoes herself , and 99% are caucasion Guest being served.
to me it looked like modern day Slavery also the way she treats her staff was mean and mostly fake in my opinion very derogatory. Unfortunately i will not return anymore because of modern day principles. I think she should be ashamed of her concept and makes some changes, cause i cant be the only one. Very horrible.
