Came here on our visit to Tomball as it was listed as a must see in the area. Had the brisket, cornmeal casserole, carrot soufflé, Green beans and the brisket and blues sandwich. The carrot soufflé was pretty damn good. The brisket was above average but it arrived a bit cold. The green beans and the cornmeal casserole were solid (but not to die for). They have a nice selection of brews on tap and have other beverages like mimosa and micheladas. Good overall and will be coming back. As a Texan this is top tier food and not just the wide variety of meat but also the chocolate is great! The overall building brought back great memories growing up in Texas. First time eating here and it was fantastic! Spent more money than we anticipated but the price of meat is through the roof right now, so we understood completely. We ordered a single beef rib (2 lb rib) burnt ends, pulled pork, potato salad, and beans. All were fantastic and I loved the acidity of the BBQ sauce with the meat. Was pleasantly surprised to see Newsom wine being served and their malbec paired perfectly with the BBQ and chocolate truffles. Truffles were amazing! We asked them to recommend a couple that went with our wine and they were right. I thought it was very expensive to pay $16 for a barbecue sliced beef sandwich and an offbrand soda. Meat was very good on a toasted bun. BBQ sauce is on the table for you to use. The sides are extra and they’re not cheap. The service was very good. Nest, old restaurant. I sat outside because it was a beautiful day, but people can smoke outside, so it kind of ruined my meal. I would not go back because of the price.

I was in the area for something else and asked for a lunch recommendation. Tejas Chocolate + Barbecue was very enthusiastically suggested. Parking is in a lot across the street. It was busy but had some spots in the early afternoon on a Saturday. Staff were friendly and the food itself came quickly. There is a brief line to order at a counter and then you're given a number to await your food. I ordered a brisket loaded baked potato (see photo) and it was lovely. The brisket can be ordered chopped or sliced and with the potato I got chopped. The sauce is at the table (and you can pick up a little cup to take some home if you have leftovers). It was lovely. Plenty of butter and the potato was perfectly cooked. It was also not too cheesy (which takes away from the brisket). One of the sides we ordered was the Carrot Soufflé and it was amazing. I noticed you could buy a large order of this in the fridge up front. If I knew I was cooking for the upcoming holiday, I would have bought one on the spot to take home. On the way out we picked up a couple of their chocolate items to enjoy later and I certainly did enjoy. The next time I'm in Tomball, I'll certainly return. The food was great. Typical Texas bbq. Moist brisket cooked just right, tender and tasty. The beans were also good and the chocolate bread pudding was excellent. The indoor area is small but cozy. This place is great! Arrived at noon on a Saturday and walked in the line was at the door. Wait from there was only 15 minutes. The burnt ends were delicious! My partner had the brisket and blues sandwich and he said it was delicious. Plus it had so much meat stacked. Will definitely visit again. Just FYI they do not offer gluten free buns and the only chocolate that was dairy free was the chocolate bar which was a bit pricey at $10 but it is delish.
