I would give 6 stars, if I had one more… the place is amazing! We went there twice in a row! It starts with a lovely, well-performed service… so attentive and caring, we felt in very good hands. Then, they start surprising you with this exceptional food, each course a masterpiece in itself, we LOVED it… and the staff is explaining the details throughout with so much passion, it just tastes even better… A nice welcoming change to all those burger, pizza and fries places. THANK YOU! One of my favorite places in New Zealand! If you look for regular food, you will not get it here! If you are open-minded and ready to explore, this might be YOUR place too. If I ever come back to New Zealand, I can promise that I’ll eat here. Easily the best meal we had. We did the wine pairings along with our 8 courses. The food was beyond good. Every single course was perfection. The wine was also amazing. Cutest little restaurant with friendly and knowledgeable staff. You definitely need a reservation! We had a dinner for two and shared most dishes. The meat was better than the fish that felt plain but well executed. Terra is still the best restaurant in Paihia by a mile! My only recommendation is to be mindful of the later diners, when starting to clear the bar and the kitchen areas. We sat at 8 pm which we understand is a little bit late, but by 9 all we could hear were the sound of faucets, washing up, bartenders prepping the bar, cutlery and glasses. We had a fabulous degustation experience at Terra with chef, Marcus. But it was much more than small bites and the blending of seasonal and local ingredients was masterful.

Had an absolutely fantastic lunch here while on holiday in Paihia. A bit sad we couldn't experience their full evening service but hopefully will be back for that another time. Absolutely loved the eel on toast as a starter. Visually stunning and wonderfully balanced dish. Book in for a long lunch, and don't rush. Highly recommended. Wow! What a spectacular experience - we were a group of 15 people with varying dietary requirements and we were all blown away by both the amazing food and the impeccable service. Would recommend a trip to Paihia just to be able to experience Terra Restaurant. 10/10.

Delicious!! So happy we found this restaurant! They just opened about 6 weeks ago. Great developed flavors in their dishes, very fresh ingredients and a nice selection of plates to choose from. Great service as well. Good for vegetarians or meat lovers alike! The market fish was the best I’ve had so far in the North Island! Highly recommend ✨✨

Having experienced cuisine around the world, this is now my most memorable meal and worth every penny! The food was beautifully presented and prepared from starter to dessert- so delicious and a work of art.
