THE BEST BBQ IN SAN ANTONIO!!! Worth the drive to D Willie’s Smokehouse! The atmosphere is warm and rustic and the BBQ is DELICIOUS AND VERY TENDER - IT LITERALLY FALLS OFF THE BONE. THE BEST BABY BACK RIBS I HAVE EVER EATEN ♥️. Our server was very funny, quick and made us feel like family. Man did Kathy make us feel very welcomed! My supervisor and I went for lunch and it was just like I had planned it to be... Great! Very kind people, great "air" and feeling to be served almost hand and foot by the staff! Food was just the way we ordered it and didn't last long at all! First time here. Cute little place, loved how clean the restaurant was. Decorated really nice. The brisket was really good, pinto beans good, and cream corn cold. The flavor of corn good, but just too cold to eat. The service was great! There was a worker taking a break and playing his phone loud...but not for too long. I visited here for the 1st time after hearing mixed reviews about it online. The place definitely has a lot of character and is exactly what you would imagine a good smokehouse to be. It was quite empty when I popped in a little after 2pm on a weekday. Service was friendly, helpful, and attentive. I decided to go for the 3 meat plate, which I have to say, was at a pretty good price. I was impressed by the amount of food on my plate - It looked amazing! Unfortunately, as good as the brisket and ribs looked, it lacked smoke flavor, was a bit under seasoned, and seemed TOO SOFT, almost like potroast without gravy... like it had been sitting in the warmer too long? Good thing the bbq sauce was tasty as I had to use it on the meats. Standouts were the sausage link (really good!), potato salad, and green beans. I'd be willing to give them another shot here, or maybe at their other location. The family took a trip here and the food and atmosphere were great. My only bad experience were the flies. Food was delicious and the service great. My picky eating family enjoyed everything we order and the leftovers as well. My try for your next craving of BBQ. This was my first time at D Willie's. I was greeted by everyone when I walked in. My grandson loved the chicken and I loved the baby back ribs. They were so tender and no sauce was needed. The brisket was not that good. It was too dry but I'll return for the ribs. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
