I regretted visiting The Bach as a breakfast option; while the garden was lovely, the coffee was - literally - among the worst I've ever had. Cabinet food very 90's cafe fare. Service was unengaged.
The food was absolutely delicious. The best spaghetti Bol my daughter had ever had- and she is a very fussy diner. The pasta was wonderful. Service was great- to the point where I couldn't walk back to where we were staying due to an injured knee so the waitress took me in her car. Above and beyond. A wonderful way to celebrate birthdays and wedding anniversary.
What a bad experience. Waited 35 minutes for the food. The salad was tasteless, the chicken was cold, the kids meal was barely enough. The staff seemed lost. What a waste! It was such a beautiful day that we could have enjoyed somewhere else.
Gross
Waited a good 30 minutes for our salmon pizza and chips, not worth the $31 at all. My friend and I could only eat three slices together. The amount of capers was so unnecessary and over powering making the pizza unbearable and disgusting. The salmon was oven cooked and fishy disappointed as we assumed it would be smoked for the price we paid. The chips were made for oven baking but they deep fried them anyway they were cold and hard in the middle. Staff were rude and were ignoring us when we were asking for a takeaway bag. My friend and I have both vomited after our meal definitely would not recommend. Over all disappointed and angry for the money wasted.
Chips were too oily and salty. Couldn't eat them. Pizza was not cooked properly and all of the toppings fell of instantly. Got a refund but it was not a good experience. Everything was grimey and the cutlery and cups were not clean looking. Music was terrible.
While it has a good outdoor seating, service and food are terrible. Came here for lunch, ordered ‘vegetable’ soup of the day from a very grumpy waiter, and what I got was an onion soup with a hint of cabbage. I don’t eat onions. Told the waiter, he disappeared for 15 min with my soup, came back with my money. All that while my partner actually had (an average) burger. So here we are, I’m still hungry, my partner is full, lunch ruined. Waiter didn’t apologise, didn’t offer anything else, just gave us money back, kinda like ok you can bugger off now. And he also tried to argue that “he tasted the soup and he could taste cabbage”. Well thanks you! Vegetable soup my ass!
There are plenty of other good places in Akaroa, if you want good food and service.
