All the food was terrible. The garlic balsamic bread was so toasted it hurt you mouth while eating it. The onion rings were burned, the pizza was burnt and they knew it , offered a new one but it took nearly a hour to get the first one, so we took the first lot. The bar service and ladies were lovely however. Terrible food and very pricey. Recommend the Cafe down the road instead.
Had a lovely steak dinner here. Steak was cooked perfectly and cut very easily. Good flavour.
The course is in pretty good condition for the resources they have. Some of the greens have dead/stress patches which is a shame. The course is nice to play, very short, but with a lot of variation. It’s worth a trip to try it out

Played golf, course is outstanding. Had dinner, food was fabulous. Great staff. Real friendly and awesome atmosphere.
Played 18 holes of golf at the club course. The course was in pretty good condition, the fairways are fairly flat and the greens undulating but true. The bunkers were a challenge and the water around the front 7 made it interesting. I paid $70 and would say there are better value courses on the peninsula. A major concern I have is there was no hot water available for a shower.
Very disappointed with the food at Omaras, after a long wait we were served overcooked fish and one of the worst steaks I’ve seen. Won’t be going back.
Went for dinner with the family. They have a kids menu and the servings are generous. I had the surf and turf. The steak was huge and cooked perfectly. It was very tasty as were the prawns. The chips were nice just a little over salted. It comes with a caesar salad which is a bit much and makes for a huge meal. The pork bao were nice but would have been nicer hot. The popcorn chicken was a little over cooked and lacking in flavour. The buttered chicken was average and very mild. There are little to no non alcoholic drinks available unless you like coke ect... No tea or coffee were available which was very disappointing
Food was average and pricey. Nothing special on the Menu.
We were very lucky to have been able to secure what seemed to have been the last table for the night as we had not made a reservation. After a bit of confusion at the outset as to whether they could accommodate us, we had a couple of drinks, a great meal and the staff were friendly - especially the young waitress that looked after us! Good menu, good selection of drinks and very popular it seems with the locals.

if you ever go to matarangi, be sure to visit this place. i went for a holiday to kuaotunu and towards the end of the holiday i decided to have lunch here. this is easily the best meal i’ve had while visiting this part of the north island. I had the chicken wings, and the serving size was huge, and the wings were both very crispy and juicy. it was also so much less crowded than Luke’s Kitchen for example. Definitely recommend!
