Both Historic Old Pecos County Jail and The Grey Mule are recommended for visiting. Visit this place and order delicious malbec, Sangria or wine cocktails. The cosy atmosphere of this pizzeria makes guests feel relaxed and have a good time. The nice staff welcomes people all year round. The terrific service is something these restaurateurs care about. A lot of reviewers mention that prices are low for what you receive. Google users like The Grey Mule: it was rated 4.7 stars.

We stopped on Friday after-work for a bottle of wine and ordered the cheese plate. I was impressed with the quality of the cheese plate. It had thick cut slices of cheese, juicy sweet grapes, crisp apple, ripe pear, olives and an assortment of crackers. The atmosphere is great and the owner Sue is terrific! We love visiting locally owned businesses and this one is worth the stop!! Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Candoni Moscato
Dog friendly patio a short walk from Roony Park. The outdoor yard is well fenced and secure. If your furry friend is well behaved he can freely roam the grounds and or hang out on a fabulous patio. They always have quality wine that never disappoints. There is also a nice selection of beer now. We had a pizza that was Purdy darn good as well, and it was another festive nite at the Grey Mule. Nice folks pleasant atmosphere. Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Cheese Board

My wife and I absolutely loved it. Michel is a colorful West Texas character (which is made more fun by the fact that he is French), and he is just the kind of host you'd hope for when you walk into one if the oldest saloons in the southwest United States. I highly recommend the Grey Mule. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We stopped in to see the historic Grey Mule Saloon and were excited that it was a wine tasting bar because we used to own a wine shop in Washington State. I tried all of the whites and my husband tried the reds. We also tried their sangria and a Ray’s spirits cocktail. Everything was delicious and the prices are great. Sarah was helpful, kind, and informative. We also enjoyed meeting two locals (a father and son), the father has been here since the 40s. The warm Texas welcome and hospitality was greatly appreciated. It was fun to talk about Texas and enjoy Texas wine in a historic building.
Loved spending my Sunday afternoon here! Monica was the absolute best; she made us feel extra special! Many wines to choose from and kids are welcome. Nice patio space and cozy indoor tasting room. Reasonably priced; no pressure to buy bottles or be rushed out as the afternoon became busier.
The staff were very knowledgeable on their Texas selections. We enjoyed visiting with locals and my husband and I shared a delicious cheeseboard with our 5 "tastes" apiece. An hour, or so...we made our exit with a crisp Chardonnay, a snappy Malbec and a bottle of infused local olive oil , nicely tagged and bagged. I would recommend checking this little gem on your pass through Fort Stockton.😏
We stopped in Fort Stockton on our 28 hour drive just to come back to the Grey Mule! They have fantastic wines and offer true Texas hospitality—definitely worth a visit if you are in town! I have attached photos of some of their wine menu as of August 2022 (they have food and other drinks too) but their wine menu is constantly revolving so check back in frequently.
