Let me relay the experience I just had, 1749 MST 20 February. Just now leaving at that time stamp. Ordered the "Sriracha" egg salad, panini style. That was based on recommendation - I asked the guy at the counter "Should I get the egg salad or grilled cheese," both looked pretty good from the menu description. He says based on the weather he thinks egg salad. It's chilly out. He asks regular sandwich or panini style? Panini i say. He brings it out later. Not grilled, saying, "Sorry we haven't figured out the way to do this one panini style yet, then drops and just leaves but not before I say, "Hey is there Sriracha in this"? (It looks like plain egg salad, bread is dry itself and no smear of Sriracha evident nor any hint of redness to the egg salad. "Oh it's in there," he says but I can bring you some if you need it. Walks away before I can reply. I eat half then bring him the plate saying, "there's zero hint of Sriracha in this egg salad and the bread is dry and hard to eat," and then I put the plate on the bar saying, "I'll just leave this with you,"
His reply, "Okay." He takes it away immediately into the kitchen. No offer to rectify or remedy.
I used to like this place. It's gone though from bad to worse. I won't be going back.
"Thanks for coming in," he says as I leave.
"I won't be back," I reply as I walk out.
I paid 10 dollars for the sandwich and he took half back offering no remedy!
The Hub at Kinston stinks. It's over now. Used to be alright but now it's a suck fest.
This is the clubhouse for the new Kinston community at Centerra, open to the public with some of the best patios around. Food and Beverage is provided by the Hub Cafe by Fresh Plate. They just opened Feb. 15, 2024. Full food menu, coffee, beer, wine, cocktails, and much more.
I lived in Kinston for a bit, and this place is such a delight to have access to every day, though it's open to the public. It's a small coffee shop/bar with beautiful mountain views, and outdoor seating. The interior is so cutely decorated. I love the coffee drinks- always tasting good! The food is delicious - especially the tomato soup and grilled cheese, and the cinnamon roll is an experience in a hot mini cast iron skillet. I wish they had more food options (not sure if they have a chef currently?) though.
It's fairly quiet and calm there so it's a nice place to read or work. The seating options are varied - from comfy sofas, to solid wooden chairs - everything is stylish and comfortable.
I will definitely miss this place! You should absolutely go check it out. Oh, and there's a splash pad in the garden for kids.

Bummer, had a great review posted from 7 months ago. The past two times I've left without ordering anything because there is one person working her butt off and they don't have time to get to me. I'm not acknowledged or greeted. I wait to try to order for a while and just give up. Must not want my business. Maybe all the effort is put into night life here?

Beautiful hidden gem. The food was delicious and it’s a comfortable place to hang out. We made a special trip the cinnamon roll at the recommendation of a friend. It didn’t disappoint! They are short staffed but the young man who dealt with us did a great job.
Stopped by for some evening coffee and tea. Well made! They had dairy free options for my partner and me, which was important to us. We sat outside in the garden area, where there were beautiful trees and flowers, lovely landscaping, and a nice seating area. Ping pong and lawn games are available for use. Inside has a nice seating area as well. Trivia Thursday nights!
