On our recent trip, we chose The Longboard for our last dinner (1/5/24) on the island. What a great choice!
Initially, we were just going to start our evening there, with a couple drinks in the bar. But after chatting with the bartender and wait staff, we decided to make it a full evening. We started with their “pain-quila,” a tequila-based version of the traditional painkiller; and their “heart & sol,” a spicy, tequila-based drink with basil, lime, honey, and sea salt. Both were fresh, delicious, and wonderfully aromatic, the perfect way to start a meal on a warm St. John evening. The guacamole and chips paired well with these. For dinner, my wife had the street tacos with barbacoa, which is traditional to the Caribbean. The meat was very tender, which is notable with barbacoa. I had a poke bowl, with fresh fish, mango, pineapple, avocado, and a spicy aioli. Everything was so delicious, and beautifully presented. We finished with a mid-priced tequila shot. Call it dessert!
The Longboard is a casual restaurant with up-scale food, outdoor seating, and reasonable (by island standards) prices. Our waitress, Audrey, helped make it a lovely evening—she was fun and attentive. Lots of vegetarian options. Highly recommended!

Super cute little restaurant with great food. We started with the chips & guac, I had the poke bowl, and my husband got the grouper special of the day. Everything was delicious and our server Monica was very nice!

I give it 4 stars for the atmosphere. Cute little vibe, convenient as it is only 5 mins maybe less from the Cruz Bay ferry terminal. It was easy to grab seating at the bar. I was solo, it is a small place so I imagine larger parties would have more of a wait. It was busy and seemed to be a popular choice. That said, the food was okay and it was definitely overpriced for the subpar taste. Also, I only had appetizers on my visit, but I feel when the basics are just “okay” and so pricey, I’m not too interested in trying out an entree. If they offer you a special, make sure you check the price. I paid well over $20 for a shrimp skewer you will see in photo.

Excellent service by Katie & team at the bar, for lunch, anytime drinks, and dinner. Great food and some.of the best curated cocktails we've had. Cool, easy vibe, clean, and reasonable. 20% grat is included in your bill but you won't be mad, they earn it and more. Definitely recommend!

The food was alright, but it was tiny portions for what you paid for. Half of our group left hungry, since the ceviche was so tiny while still being over $20. A cute spot, but the food is definitely more for looks than taste.

This place was a breath of fresh air and would highly recommended while visiting St. John! The food was fresh and full of flavor! Also, the Frozen Pain Killer drink is awesome! This place has a great atmosphere and very friendly staff.
We got a decent amount of food but it was all delicious! Started off with the street corn and the queso with chips. The street corn was sooooo good...I ate it within 2 minutes of the photo. Then we got a pulled jerk chicken thigh bowl, daily fish special and tacos; Seared shrimp, taco special & pulled jerk chicken thigh. We all had the famous pain killer drinks and they were the bomb! Not too heavy and perfect with the food. Enjoy!

This was my third time here. We came twice last year too! The food is delicious and a really nice option that did not exist in Cruz Bay until it opened. Sometimes they’re limited on available ingredients but there’s always a great range of food options for everyone-especially my family who has two people with lactose intolerance and one person who’s diabetic. I love the fresh fish and all of the different varieties it comes in. I’m sure we’ll be visiting again on our trip! My only challenge is that most seats don’t have backs which isn’t comfortable for a full meal, but if you time it correctly, you won’t be there for an extremely long time.
Modern / casual classy vibes. Amazing cocktails!! Probably best so far on USVI for me. The couple sitting next to us got two margaritas to go.
Food is great too. We shared a poke bowl and 3 tacos. Other people’s fish / pork sliders look amazing too.
Service was great - they messed up our order and we had to wait a long time for food but server was apologetic and gave us some mini pain killers while we wait 🍹.
There is also a selection of excellent virgin cocktails to choose from if you are driving.
Note there’s no reservations and need to go in person to sign up for waitlist, we waited about 40 minutes before getting seated at bar seats. There’s a cute souvenir shop across and a popsicle place 2 blocks away if you need to wander/wait.
Will come back and try again! The cocktails are the star.

Longboard is just that restaurant that has the right food for the right place. The food is fresh and flavorful. The best way I can describe is “as what you crave when you come out of the salty beach”. The selection is great and the quality is amazing. I have been to the place more than 3 times in different trips and quality is amazing. Service is good and with the turn around of the islands they can keep up with great service. Drinks are very good as well and they use quality premium liquor. You cannot go wrong, only issue is that the place is popular but if you arrive early you will get seated. Highly recommended. And also “Pollitos” visit the restaurant 🤣. You got to love the islands.
one of my favorite restaurants on our trip here!
service :
audrey was our server & she was the best server i’ve experienced in a long time - truly she’s what made the experience great.
food :
the poke bowl was absolutely incredible 🙌🏼
not a ton of kid friendly options on the menu - but my son loved the chicken quesadilla!
i appreciated the option of tap water here since i really don’t like using plastic water bottles
(most restaurants here automatically give you bottles, without asking or don’t have the option)
atmosphere:
an absolutely beautiful restaurant in a great location
would highly recommend!
ask for audrey & tip her well 🥰
