Stopped on the way to Gauteng and was pleasantly surprised. Fresh farm food, juices and the toilets are big and clean. Please tip the people cleaning them so as they deserve it. With kids that was a great added factor. Well operated and service was good. They have pizza, burgers, coffee wine and more.
Freshly prepared great tasting food. Warm fireplace and cheerful staff.
Went back here and I enjoyed a delicious pepper steak pie with gravy and chips. My husband enjoyed a mutton bunny once again which I must add was bigger and more delicious than the last time.

I've been waiting to get to this spot for such a long time and finally got to go with my amazing family.
The place is stunning! Firstly, I love the views, the quirky decorating, the cleanliness, the way they strive to be eco-friendly and the peaceful setting, despite being filled with many travellers. Secondly, the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. Our attendant knew her 'onions', which is great when you are a first timer!
There were many options and various food stalls to choose from, which is a plus when you have a picky and choosy family like mine 😀
The ablutions were neat and clean, which is always a win for me!!! Signposts for wheelchair parking was visible and right at the entrance which is great! There were other goodies to purchase on your way out, as a take home treat. And yes! This is an Instagram photo haven...
Lastly, having said all of that, to say this ... my meal was pretty average with disappointingly undercooked chips. I had the freshly, baked chicken and mushroom pie, with chips and gravy. Let's just say, I have had better! The food prices were up there too!
Another disappointment, was the excitement my daughter had about getting to eat at Artichoke, which is an all vegan joint. Well! needless to say there was no 'Artichoke'. Coming from a two year stint in New York, where she had so many options was pretty much a let down for her!🤨 I'm not saying I am writing this place off my list of things to do though, because I would like to try the other food stalls, I might be surprised. So, yes! Many boxes were ticked and we will be making our way back again sometime soon!
Really interesting concept, amazing views, service was good, wide menu selection, my wife and i chose the mutton bunny to share, they put half the bunny in different plates, they were as big as normal quarter bunny. It was just as good as the bunnies in durban,l, we set next to the fire place and it was warm and cozy for a big hall. It is open till 4:30 pm. So lunch is a good option, breakfast must be good, there is a discovery park run from there every Saturday!
Only a fool would drive past. A very neat and clean rest stop. Pet friendly areas.
Most important - a great restaurant, delicious food and the billboards don't lie. Fresh Farm Food - Fast.
Don't let the prices discourage you, the portions are generous and the food tasty.
*Have a milkshake for desert!!
Great place with good food. Friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent variety of food. Great selection for vegans and vegetarians.
Great atmosphere, clean restrooms and ample parking. Beautiful surrounding location. Great views.
Definitely recommended!
This is actually a great place if you’re on your way somewhere and need a pit stop with a variety of food options. They have different food types- vegan/Mexican/pizzas/ falafel/ Indian and chicken. I wouldn’t necessarily go here just for the food. The food is ok, a little bland. The service is very slow. The senior employees repeatedly ask if you’ve been helped-while you continuing waiting. Overall not a bad experience.
Rated 3 stars for selection:
Vegan, juice, coffee, pizza, burgers, Mexican, falafel, gelato...
and atmosphere:
modern, clean and indoor fires!
Removed 2 stars for the service being slow, and pizzas being a little underwhelming.
My suggestion would be to allow guests to order and pay at the relevant counters and then sit at a table and enjoy their meal. Having the table waitered on adds an unnecessary delay at a fuel / journey stop.
Average meal price is around R90 - R100
We stopped here on the way to the Berg on a Friday afternoon.
Ample parking available with several different stores offering everything from vegan food to Indian curries. We ordered pizza and nachos from two places and coffee and milkshake from a third.
Pizza was a regular pizza. Mozzarella was ordinary, and there wasn’t enough tomato sauce, but it was inoffensive and edible. I wouldn’t pay R75 for this again, although I might try their veggie option which had garlic, mushrooms, and other interesting toppings. Kids would like the plain pizza though – it’s failsafe.
Nachos were very spicy. Good amount of toppings though. Could do with more guacamole and sour cream. Tortilla chips were nice and crunchy, and the overall flavours were good, just doused in an overwhelming amount of chilli.
Coffee and milkshake were decent.
Well planned layout. You sit and order from one menu and your food is brought to you. Prices are good with large portions offered.
Situated just of the N3, it is convenient and affordable. Washroom facilities are large and immaculate. There's also a BP garage and convenience store to buy little things you may need for your road trip.
Overall we paid R250 for two people. This included the nachos, the pizza, a coffee, a milkshake, and a can of Cream Soda, and a tip.
I would stop here again. There is a wide variety, especially for vegetarians. Will definitely have to try the vegan café next.
For meat eaters, the options are endless and from the plates of food flying around, it looked like the chicken and the sandwiches were the winners here. Give it a shot, there’s nothing else like it in Durban at least.
