As a Laveen local I really appreciate the genuine vibe at this bar, because the regulars are welcoming and truly good people. Everyone is welcome as long as you don't bring in drama. It's an old school neighborhood bar with great bartenders who know their customers and always making people feel welcome. Bring a good attitude and you'll love the Spurr.

What can I say other than what a circus. Rude Staff, Scam Artists, Illegal, and Completely Unprofessional. We were having what was a great night until the entire bar was yelled at by the bartenders, the waitress threw our money at us, and their owner was sitting there drunk condoning the nonsense. Through out the night, we bought a ton of drinks and were tipping the bartender 4 to 6 a round. Out of no where a blonde old bartender in a tacky red and shirt with shapes gets on the mic and starts yelling at everyone to tip because it’s a full bar and there are only two bartenders. Which we ignored personally knowing we were tipping and it cause a couple to leave saying how “crazy” the lady was being. That alone says a lot about at least one staff member, but wait there’s more. Later in the night a second bartender with the most ratchet looking wig gets on the mic yelling and begging people to put tips in the karaoke hosts bin for him to stay longer since they only booked him till 1 and clearly they couldnt afford to keep him till 2 and wanted the crowd to pay.

The second bartender grabbed the mic and the tip jar of the bartender and started walking around for tips like it was Sunday church. Never have I seen such unprofessionalism from a person so truly pissed me off so I left them a dollar for a tip my last round and then they threw it on the floor and told me I could keep it so guarantee I did.
If I could leave zero stars I honestly would. This place had terrible service and around midnight one of the bartenders got on the mic and started telling people they needed to tip if they wanted their drinks on time because they were just too busy. A second time time the other bartender got on the mix and grabbed the dj’s tip jar and started walking around telling everyone to tip like it was church service It is the most unprofessional mindset I’ve ever seen when it comes to a bartender. If your looking for a typical friendly dive bar with all nationalities. This is the spot. They play all kinds of music beer prices are great. If your looking for weekend Karaoke then you found the right spot.
If you want a local dive, you've found it. The fryer is always at the right temp for food to be perfectly crispy and not overly greasy. The girls hustle. The drinks are reasonable. I mean, what more can you want from a neighborhood dive bar?

I chose this place for NYE because it was small and figured it would be friendly, being that it appeared to be a local hangout. It was a nice evening with a friendly crowd, and service was great even though the place was packed.
