Tornado Steak House in Madison is a classic Wisconsin supper club experience that is sure to please. From the mains to the wine list, everything is perfected and classic. The Filet au poivre is an excellent choice and the portions are generous. The atmosphere is reminiscent of the 70s with wood paneling, antlers and lumber jack saws on the wall. The service can be slow to start, but once you get your cocktail, you're in for a treat. The steak is cooked to perfection and the sauces are full of flavor. The relish cup, bread, soup or salad and side with entree make it a complete meal. The specialty cocktails, wine list and ambience are all top notch. The dessert choices are limited, but the pineapple upside down cake is heavenly. Tornado Steak House is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a classic Wisconsin supper club experience.

I ordered the fillet with mushroom and cream sauce, medium. The fillet was cooked beautifully, but they put a lot of pepper coating on the steak so that threw me off. The wedge salad, was fantastic. I wish they would’ve given a bit more of a relish tray, but they did give you a little somethng to nibble on. My husband ordered the T-bone medium rare, but it came out more medium to well done. The meat was tender but again they were very heavy with the pepper. The French onion soup was delicious. The cheesecake was decent. The atmosphere was like an old school supper club.the staff were helpful. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

This a review for the late night menu food. My New York strip steak ordered medium rare was a bit too rare for me. Also the cheese curds were mediocre in my opinion. Drinks were good. Not worth it for the total bill overall. Price per person $50–100 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I haven’t been to the tornado room in over two years. It was as good as I remember. a great place for dinner! We started with martinis, then went to oysters Rockefeller, then went to escargot, soup and salad, and then finally dinner and cake for dessert…Food and service was ok. the only concern I had was the filet was a bit overcooked and dry. At this price you expect things to be really good. But you would also think that this would be a place where you had to be affluent to visit, and that's not the case. Anyone is welcome and there is stuff on the menu at all price points. Even though we bought one of the more expensive steaks on the menu, there is plenty of options and you can walk out of here at $20 a person pretty easy. A steak this large and this thick does need to be cooked with experience, and watching that be served pretty frequently gave me a lot of confidence that it would be cooked exactly as needed. I ordered it medium and then ended up being a mistake. The center was medium but everything else was medium well and the edges were well. I should have ordered it medium rare or almost rare, considering that it wasn't possible for me to eat the whole thing. I would have wanted the edges to be medium and the center to be medium rare, but I did not convey that so it's my fault and not the kitchens, in my opinion. A steak at this price point should not require any seasoning or sauces. It had a char flavor and that was about it, I did expect more beef flavor than I got. I had mostly char, and while the texture was very good and the meat selection was high quality, I also saw a local beef and buy my beef from local ranchers so I'm used to high quality meats that are properly cooked. I typically don't order steaks and restaurants because I think I do a darn good job myself. But I have time to cook a steak and I'm not rushed. In a restaurant, I understand how they're trying to get people in and out and most people aren't willing to wait for a perfectly cooked steak. The atmosphere is awesome and the staff was really friendly and helpful. I would certainly visit again, and I would order their steak again, but I would definitely lean towards rare to medium rare knowing that it is not consistent and I want my edges, which are the best part of a ribeye, to be just medium. On a business trip, and stopped at Tornado on a whim (new nothing of the place). I sat at the bar, and enjoyed an amazing meal with a couple regulars. Fillet, french-onion soup, and Brussel sprouts with a glass of Oregon pinot. Called my wife, and said it was the best steak of my life! I feel like I was transported back to the opening of the restaurant be it the 70s or 60s. The service was amazing. We were able to score bar seats as we were told they were booked for the weekend. The French onion soup might be the best I’ve ever had. The wedge is an interesting take on the salad. The steak was amazing and the hash browns oh my god good. Worth the stop for sure Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

If you like classic steakhouses, Tornado Steak House is for you. Low light, dark wood, and leather booths speak from the past (in a good nostalgic way). The food was excellent as well as the service. Great job. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This was my first time eating at Tornado Room, and I would absolutely go back. The food portions were large, the food was well seasoned, the prices were very reasonable for a supper club and how much food you get, and the service was impeccable. My water glass was refilled consistently, and our server Tara made it a point to ask our names and make sure we had a memorable experience. I will absolutely go back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
My friends and I love Tornado Room. We were doing a “martini crawl” and stopped at Tornado room for their late night menu. Ben is such a great bartender and made FABULOUS martinis with stuffed olives. This will be our first stop next time. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
