The food is always great. BUT the service has gotten SO bad. Today one of the consistently rude employees just informed me that despite having 1 meat, 2 meat or 3 meat plate options, they put the same amount of meat on each. Meaning they only provide that as an option and charge more so you can mix and match. You don’t get more meat unless you order a separate plate even though they charge more for each option which is ridiculous to me. Again, food is great but they need to start hiring people with good attitudes and competence. Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Four of us went and got different things to try. The winners were the Katsu Chicken and the Beef. The macaroni salad and rice was tasty too. The servings were huge, we’ll be choosing single meat dinners from now on and sharing. The prices were very reasonable for how much food we got. This is just the restaurant we needed in the area to add a little diversity.
Pretty decent take on so-called "Hawaiian Food" plate lunches endemic in HI...where I used to live. The best dish here would be the Kalbi, which is actually adopted from Korean food. Plate lunches in HI include several different cultural dishes from various traditions. Sadly, my fav, Lau Lau is not made here...nor is true Kalua Pork. The plate lunches here will fill you up and the place is clean. Nice stop after one shops at the Weds Farmers Market in the parking lot at 8AM.
First time trying this unique take on bbq. A little Asian a little Hawaiian. A blend of good taste, good prices, and new flavors this may be a new go to a few times a month. By the way amazing proportions. Might want to try family style next time.
