Nice cafe within Ulriksdal's garden house. Gives you the feeling that you have a coffee in your backyard on a summer day+the buffet looks amazing. Great to combine with a walk around the park and the castle.
However, a bit overcrowded during weekends and only the option for filter coffee ☕️

It’s just by chance walking around the garden castle and found a garden centre and cafe during winter. It was by far the best cafe and delicious cakes and food I ever tasted

Last weekend, my friends and I visited Castle Garden Ulriksdal, a charming café in Ulriksdal. The café had a warm and inviting atmosphere from the moment we walked in, and everything was elegantly designed.
However, there was a small disappointment. The cakes looked amazing, like works of art, but they didn't taste as good as they looked. I managed to take a photo of my beautifully designed cake, but its taste didn't match its appearance.
While Castle Garden excelled in presentation, the true café experience should balance taste and aesthetics. Despite the cake's letdown, our time there was enjoyable. The cozy atmosphere, lovely surroundings, and time spent with friends made it a memorable outing. Castle Garden has the potential to be an outstanding café, and with some improvement in their food, it could be a haven for those seeking both visual and culinary delights.

The cakes are varied, beautifully presented and delicious. The vegetarian buffet is also delicious. After the meal, it’s relaxing to go for a walk in the flower & vegetable garden.

Been coming here for years. The food is always good. The location is lovely, the building is unique and the setting is special.
So why the two stars?
There are three things that irritate me
1. the poor attitude of the people on the till at the buffé. It makes it such a sour experience. I have never complained, but today I guess I hit my limit. When you smile and chat to people nicely, a simple courteousness and friendly return is much required. It makes life a little easier and make the day go round. I can’t for the life of me figure out what the problem is here.
2. Why use milk when there are a hundred other options available? Cheaper ones, healthier ones, ones with no gluten, ones with no nuts. You name it. Cow milk in food is just not necessary anymore nor is egg.
3. Paying 199kr for such a lovely lunch does not bother me. Having to become a part of the dishwashing team does. You know what I mean. I work super hard, have kids, have a business, study, help the elderly etc, I don’t really have time to join the team here on a part time basis every-time I come for lunch. This should be an easier process for guests who are having lunch here.
That said about the milk and the part-time dishwashing role, if people on the till could just be a little less rude that would make my day and could make it all alright. In over 40 visits here this has never changed. All my guests, friends, family have commented on it over the years. So the problem definitely exists.
Perhaps it is time to get to the root of what is fundamentally wrong here. Would be so nice if it felt welcoming.

This is what I like about Sweden. In most parks there are places where you can buy shrubs, flowers, etc. combined with a cafe. And this coffee shop is great. The cafe offers soup, nice sandwiches, salads and delicious coffee. For this we can order filter coffee, tea or various cold drinks. This is a perfect example of how green spaces should be managed. And in one of these places I recommend you spend a great time.

It's the beautiful cafe in the garden. Food and desserts are delicious. They have different soups of the day.
I came here in the end of summer so I still could see a lot of plants. You can harvest by yourself and buy them. I really recommend this cafe for spring & summer time. You can also have sightseeing other spots around this area. It's beautiful as well.

Bear in mind that everything is vegetarian, so do not bother to come here if you don’t appreciate vegetarian food :) I love the weekend menu, they usually have 3-4 vegetarian dishes to choose from and an assortment of vegetarian desserts, where you pay extra for whichever dessert you choose. Coffee, bread and salad is included in the meal. Everything they serve is absolutely delicious, I could eat here everyday! My only complaint is that they should assign tables to customers on weekends as it does get really crowded and it’s hard to find a seat. Sometimes two people occupy a table for four and table for two are left empty, so I would really appreciate if they could improve the seating system somehow.
