Umia in Essaouira offers a splendid dining experience, with a focus on well-prepared dishes, including seafood. The restaurant’s tasteful decor and welcoming atmosphere set the stage for a memorable meal. The standout feature was the exceptional hospitality, especially from the woman who seemed to be the owner, making us feel genuinely welcomed. The service was friendly and attentive, complementing the high-quality food. While prices were a bit high, the superb taste and presentation justified the cost, providing good value. Really excellent food!! Best place to eat in Essaouira. Restaurant is quite small, so make a reservation to be sure that you have a table. You will not be dissapointed. Good service, and I specially recommend the seafood. See pictures below. Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This small restaurant in the Médina was just a few steps from our Riad. It turned out to be a gem! Three of us tried the ceviche, humus, and crab roll as starters, then the seared tuna, clam risotto, and gnocchi. Every dish was spectacular! Service was friendly and attentive. Top class food, well prepared and very tasty. We ordered 8 starters, 1 main, and 2 desserts between four us us, with one good bottle of wine and 3 shots. Price was on the high side for Essaouira but still represented good value. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would go again. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Amazing food in a beautiful, tranquille setting. Staff is kind, warm and knowledgeable. We had as starter the clams and the ceviche. Especially the ceviche was very well prepared and very tasty. The risotto was smooth and silky, the tuna steak juicy and the monkfish in figue leaves was a great dish. If you are in Essaouira, go there…!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great food, great ambiance and decor and great service! We ordered the special lobster and it was probably the best lobster I’ve ever had. I would recommend to book a reservation in advance as the restaurant is not very big and it is usually very busy. Enjoy!

The first touch of this beautiful place is the wonderful smell that welcomes you and makes you feel like in heaven! The style of this restaurant is really special, the beauty is in the details, even the lighting and music are good which is rare. It was the pleasure to spend our evening there with the wonderful wine and dishes. Also we met the owners of the restaurant and they are the soul of Umia, so intelligent and welcoming as well. Thank you for this cozy experience and high level service in Essaouira, we will definitely visit you soon again!
