I really liked the restaurant. The taste of the food could've been better. The prices were slightly high when compared to the quality. The service was great. Ambiance was truly amazing. My family, friends, and I visited Uncle Julio's yesterday for Valentines Day, which was also my birthday. It was a great experience. We enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and the service. The manager Scott was were welcoming and came around to see how things were going and even gave some great recommendations. But the waitress of the day award goes to Amira but we called her Mi-Mi. She was such a delight and it was a pleasure to have her as our server. The food was overall very good. I didn't necessarily like one of the salsas and I wasn't a fan of the bacon wrapped cheese & jalapeño stuffed shrimp. The bacon just wasn't done enough. So that was a little disappointing but everything else we ate was top notch. We ordered drinks and all types of entrees. I really enjoyed the Swirl Margarita (it was margarita & sangria mixed)... so good! And the fajitas are amazing! I truly enjoyed my time here and will definitely be back! Some of the best Mexican food and service we have experienced in Dallas. The hostess, our waiter, and the managers that came to our table were nice and pleasant. They have great customer service! Got there at 3:10 was seated in dining area was given menu and drink menu with happy listed starting at 3pm. When I got my check at 4:15 it was full price drinks. Was told u had to sit at bar for happy hour prices even though they give u drink menu with happy hour drinks and prices listed. Got beef and chicken fajitas came out warm not sizzling guac was listed as coming with it but got none. Had to even ask for water. I'm delighted to give this Mexican restaurant a well-deserved 5-star rating. The interior and ambiance were exceptional, creating a wonderful atmosphere for our meal. The server's warm welcome and enthusiasm truly enhanced our dining experience. We began with delightful non-alcoholic drinks like the mango passion lemonade and strawberry lemonade, which were outstanding. While some appetizers seemed a bit pricey, the standout was the fish and shrimp ceviche, truly awesome. The main dishes like enchiladas and fajitas were fantastic, and the tortilla bowls filled with chicken and cauliflower were delicious, though a bit filling. The chocolate pinata was a unique experience, albeit pricey. Save it for special occasions to make your loved ones feel truly special. For other dessert options, consider something else. Uncle Julio’s is a restaurant your rich uncle started in Grapevine to charge $30 bucks for tacos 🌮! Very upscale ambiance for a Mexican restaurant. Food was pretty decent but wildly overpriced. We had enchiladas, beef fajita’s, 1 margarita, and chips & queso. The bill before tip was north of $90! The beef fajitas come in three prices $20 for 2 tacos, $30 bucks for 3, and $40 for 4. The host was excellent the staff seemed a little persnickety to me. This is a place to go for an anniversary, once a year maybe. Not your typical daily go to Mexican food establishment. I was on my roadtrip and stopped by for dinner . The staffs were super friendly from the hostess to the servers. The food was great and will reccomend it . Everyone keeps checking how we were doing . Uncle Julio's has an amazing atmosphere with a super friendly staff. The menu has a nice combination of items but a lot of shellfish and all meats seem to be cooked with mesquite. Those are great things for most people but with shellfish allergies they assured us my steak bowl would be prepared to assure no issues. The food was good. This was my first time here with my coworker. We came around 1:20pm and it was not busy at all. the atmosphere was perfect. We were seated quickly and the people who bring chips and salsa and water came quick, but that’s when it got weird. I would have actually walked out, but my coworker was really hungry and we were on a time crunch. We waited 15-20 minutes for our server who had walked past us a few times along with the managers who kept going to everyone who was already eating to ask if they were enjoying the meal ( they never came to our table to ask how we liked the meal like they did everyone else ) It felt ackward because everyone acted like they did not see us and even the lady at the table next to us was looking. Finally the server came. I decided not to complain because what’s the point when they knew they seen us and ignored us. The food was delicious which makes it a bummer that the customer service is what made me give lower stars. I had the carnitas street tacos and it was so good. So compliments to the chef. The two managers walking to everyone’s table should be ashamed to not ask us if we were ready to order after they seen us sitting there. It felt like we were being ignored and that’s not a good feeling at all. They avoided us like the plague. I seen other reviews that said the same about being ignored when it was not busy so not sure what is up. Please do better in the customer service department.
