A pub and restaurant with good ambience. The food was great. Wine, beers, cocktails and hard liquor were available. I've seen many beer taps but almost depleted. Good wine selections. Live music from local band at late night. The service was very good. The price was quite high. Parking in UD town. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Salmon Salad
The restaurant is located in UD market area. The place looks up stat but looks can be deceiving since the place has a very reasonable price range. The menu is comprehensive with both Thai specialities as well as western style dishes. Good selection of beers and wines. Live band is performing in the evening with a mellow approach to what is performed, means it will set a good mood during your dinner. I can definitely recommend the tenderloin it was really good. Recommended!
I know very little about wine as I'm a beer snob ;-) This place surprised me in a nice way in that it's obviously an upmarket wine bar. Despite being less well dressed than most of their usual clientel I was greeted warmly by the staff. They have 11 beer taps which is very impressive (and surprising) for anywhere outside of Bangkok or Chiang Mai. I do like trhis place because of the friendly staff and the impressive tap beers. A minor criticism is that the tap beers are about 10 to 20% higher than most tap beer places I've been to in Thailand and they add about 8 Baht (nothing I know but be honest and put the 8 Baht or whatever on the menu). One of the bar staff spoke excellent English, turns out he's half English. He was very helpful. Also, they were very happy to give out samples. Well worth the visit but make sure you can afford it. Free wifi and less than 5 minutes walk from the train station.

Nice stylish place with live music. Wide selection of beer and wine. The moshroom soup was tasty but the garlic bread wasn't cross. The steak was a disaster. Served well done and cold. Also the vegetables were cold.
Completely disappointed! Had pizza and issan Ko Mu Yang. Both very very bad! Pizza dough was not pizza dough, not rise borders very bad taste, the sugo was tomatoes ONLY! not sugo, there is not used oregano, basel nothing, they use cheap cheese! Ko Mu Yang sauce was very bad from bottle or bad.made,.missing all herbs and taste. Overall quality very low. This is not pizza for 350, and not Ko Mu Yang for 270! The water they didn't served us with bottle! The just bringed glass of soda and glass of water! Huh?! Never again.

I used to go here when it was Wine Society--which was overpriced and overrated, with poor service. Now that it's morphed in Upper, I like it better. I like wine, my wife prefers beer, and they have a good selection of both. A nice chill place in UD town to eat, drink, and relax to some live music.
Food was great, good service and live band was good without being too loud to the point you couldn't have a conversation.

Disappointing Valentine's Event I was hugely disappointed to see that this previously excellent venue, now renamed as just 'Upper', has reverted to its awful Wine Society days. Their recent Valentine's event, with it's 2 sittings, one at 7pm and one at 9pm, was chaotic, with poor service and awful western style food. Although my wife's cocktail was served within minutes of our arrival, it took a further 10 minutes and 2 reminders before my glass of wine arrived. We ordered starters, and my wife had long finished hers before my (wrong order) starter was brought to the table. It was a further 15 minutes before the correct order (onion soup) arrived, served without the usual topping of toasted bread and grilled cheese. My wife's main course of (overcooked) grilled salmon arrived 15 minutes before my order of 4 cheese pizza arrived. I struggled through two segments of it's thin, biscuity base and thin coating of oily cheese before giving up. The fact that the pizza came with condiments, oregano, vinegar, chilli flakes, ketchup and chili sauce, was further evidence that they have no idea how to prepare or serve European food. I can't help feeling that for such a busy occasion, that a set, or limited 'Valentine's menu', might have made for much better experience. Sadly, this venue has now been permanently deleted from our favourite places to eat.
