What a little gem. We stopped here because it was the only restaurant opened at dinner time on our way from Denver to Rapid City. The bar was bustling with people. I 100% recommend this place for those who live in the area and if you are a person who travels from Denver to Rapid City or the other way around you have to have lunch here! The staff is very friendly and they have specials of the day, everything is very cozy and most importantly a good meal! Stopped for dinner, they were running a filet as a special. One of the best steaks I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, the meat was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. The obrians hashbrowns were amazing and came out crispy just like I asked for them. Waitress was very nice and helpful, even though you could tell she was very busy. For the size of the kitchen and the size of the dining room you could tell the cooks were working very hard in that tiny kitchen. As a local we were worried what would happen when it came under new ownership a year ago. But the new owners must be doing something right. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Large portions. The meat was tasty, but the Worcestershire sauce was a little strong. The O'Brien hashbrowns were good but I wished it had cheddar instead of American. Not super kid friendly due to the large number of homesteady artifacts on the floor and along the walls and the exposed screw tips in some of the wood. This place is a hidden gem between Rocky Mountain NP and Wind Cave NP. We were searching high and low for lunch, when I stumbled into this quiet little town in hopes for a meal. Much to our surprise, this was the first place we found! The food was amazing, the locals were kind and friendly, and this little place had amazing food. If you're stuck and not finding much for a good place lunch or dinner, I highly recommend you stop here. They have steak, burgers, sandwiches, specials... plus a soup and salad bar. I can also promise you that the kids' menu will feed the pickiest eaters of all! Lady who greeted us was very pleasant and share with us about the towns events today and about the area. The young man during taco/nacho buffet was very prompt at keeping the food available even when larger groups came in while there to memorialize or fundraiser for a 10yr. deceased firefighter. In the Black Hills for a hunting trip and stopped here a couple times for lunch. Service was good. Hamburgers are awesome. I happened to come on a French Dip special day and that was delicious as well. My cousin loved the jalapeño poppers. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20
