I had the MOST AMAZING Tomahawk Tuesday Special for two people (tomahawk, wine, salad, bread, and cloudless cake) here last week!! It was the tomahawk special! Started with tasty foccacia bread, then Caesar salad, then the tomahawk. The tomahawk was served with potatoes, asparagus, and 3 sauces, chili crisp, mustard, and chimichurri! It was so so soooo good. We kept asking for more foccacia too! All the flavors of the tomahawk and sauces tasted beautifully together. The entire meal was paired with delicious Cabernet Sauvingon from Kunde. Absolutely romantic atmosphere. The owner was actually walking around chatting with everyone too! I can't remember our servers name but she was amazing! There was a couple who sat near the window and requested to move because it was too cold and she helped them find a better table for them. Our server also had a lot of fun jokes to share with us too! I was told the only constant with the Tomahawk Tuesday Special is the 2lb tomahawk, Caesar salad, and the dessert so the rest is subject to change. Will definitely be coming back. I HIGHLY recommend the tomahawk special! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I had been wanting to try Vista Vino for some time, but we never seemed to have enough time. I made reservations. The restaurant was smaller than I anticipated, the table unfortunately matched - making it a bit difficult for the plates to fit. The table itself was right by the "wine cellar" unfortunately but I guess better than by the restroom or kitchen. I guess I expect a bit nicer place especially since it was still early and I did make reservations. The first bottle of wine we chose, Nicole said it was not in stock. I started to have flashbacks to another night at a different Italian restaurant - I was afraid it might be a repeat. We chose the Coppola "Director's Cut" to start. For appetizers, we had the Caprese Salad and Pasta Purses (roasted pear & mascarpone pasta purse, brown butter, amaretti crumbs, balsamic fig glaze, pine nuts) - both delicious. I was just ready to order the rest of the appetizers but decided to stay on course. The Rigatoni Sicilian was delicious - the sausage and meatballs were seasoned well. The Shrimp and Lobster Fra Diavola had more heat than expected but it was delicious. Dessert came with a delicious flourless chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream and a parfait cheesecake (it was pretty good, but it had more of a pudding consistency rather than cheesecake). By the end of the night, the restaurant was getting packed and very loud. They had a nice relaxed atmosphere, but I would not recommend it you are looking for something a bit cozy or romantic - perhaps it is quieter on another night. (It was a Saturday night for us.) All in all, Nicole was a very attentive server and my faith in Italian restaurants had been restored. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Vista Vino was fabulous! We came in on a Friday without a reservation and were able to sit at the bar. Micheal our server was amazing, he gave us all the correct recommendations! You must have the pasta purses appetizer!! We never would have picked this but it’s amazing! The pork Christmas special is a must if they have it! We even had 2 helpings of the bread, we usually don’t like to fill up on bread but it was so good! The price was respectable for the quality. Highly recommend and make a reservation. We will be back! We stopped in for the first time, and I’m EMPHATIC about this place! Our new fave Castle Rock restaurant (and there are so many good ones to choose from). We sat outside and the ambiance was lovely. Had the pasta purses for appetizer and we knew it was off to a great start. The lobster ravioli was dreamy and the bison bolognese… killer. We couldn’t stop talking about how happy the food made us. And the service! Felt truly cared for - a level of service that was top of its class. This is why you come here (: Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We showed up without a reservation just before Christmas and management was kind enough to get us a table. We've eaten here before but have not previously left a review. My wife and I have both spent significant time in Italy. It's not an exaggeration to say that this place comes awfully close to the real deal. The food tends to be uniformly excellent, as is the service. During our visits we've had the pasta, the meats, and the seafood, all excellent. For those of us who lament the passing of the Augustine Grill, this is the best place in town for adults to get a high quality meal and not have to be pounded with sports on all the walls. We feel that it's well worth the price to be treated this well. Nice work folks! Phenomenal restaurant with new ownership in downtown Castle Rock. The atmosphere reminds me of an older New York / Boston Italian restaurant - casual elegance and welcoming. The pasta purse appetizer and baked feta special were some of the best dishes I’ve had in Castle Rock. Very generously portioned entrees and wine pours. Don’t miss this one if you’re in the area!! We stumbled upon this little family-owned gem recently and wow, we're blown away! It's like stepping into a cozy, welcoming home where every dish feels like it's made with love. They treat you like you're a regular from the moment you walk in. Fantastic handmade dishes, attentive service and a great time! My wife and I traveled to Colorado Springs for our anniversary. We were very stressed from the Denver traffic and decided we were starving so we looked up the best restaurants in the area and found Vista Vino. Our waitress Nicole was so nice and accommodating and made us feel comfortable and at home. She is a world class waitress who understands the importance of good vibes while still operating with precision. The wine she recommend was amazing and went spot on with my meal. There was plenty of parking (something desperately lacking in Denver) and they welcomed us and sat us down promtly. The food was amazing and the portions were large. Hands down the best Alfredo we have ever had. I forget the name of my meal because wine bottles were 1/2 off tonight, BUT IT WAS INCREDIBLE. The complimentary bread and dipping oil was delicious and warm. The owner came out and spoke with us and congratulated us. You could tell everyone in the restaurant was extremely joyful. They made our 1 year anniversary special tonight and we are so grateful for them having us!! We will never forget this night! We are very happy :) thank you!!!!!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Me and my husband went there a week ago and got very disappointed, dinner costed us $180 for 2 (1 small salad, 1 app, 2 beers and 2 entrees) I ordered "Shrimp and Lobster fra Diavolo" pasta for $44 plus 1 crab cake for $7 and my husband ordered "Shrimp, Scalopes, Artichoke" pasta for $38 plus 1 crab cake... My dish gave me heartburn right away so I only ate about 20% of it, lobster tasted like it was from the can and was very old and chewy, Shrimp tasted old as well, crab cake tasted like there were only bread crumbs with no crab in it and was overcooked. My husband's scallops were overcooked and tasted rubbery... We sat at the bar area and could see the kitchen, we saw that all their food was precooked and pasta was overcooked and reheated to serve. Definitely not worth $50 a plate! That night I got horrible stomach ache and diarrhea that kept me up all night... which tells me their food was old or expired. Will not be returning to this restaurant for sure!
